Compliance and Permit Officer

A new opportunity has arisen for a Compliance and Permit Officer to join our Estates and Facilities Team.
**About the role**:
- Providing support to ensure the effective management and monitoring of contractor permits to work and internal authorisations to work.
- Acting as a primary liaison between the Contractor and the Estates and Facilities Department / Internal Stakeholders.
- Assisting the Compliance and Permit Office Manager to ensure compliance is considered and achieved on building projects.
- You will lead on the implementation of the new Permit to Work system and work with the team to deliver training courses on the use of the new Permit to Work software.
- Carrying out ad-hoc performance audits of our Contractors on site as required.
- Helping to assist the Compliance team to support the delivery of maintenance and projects across campus in a safe and organised manner.
- Assisting the Responsible person, you will deputise as necessary to manage the Legionella, PSSR and Asbestos policies/processes on campus.
**Essential Skills**:
- Experience working within an Engineering, Construction or M&E industry background.
- A working knowledge of the UK Health and Safety legislation with an emphasis on CDM.
- NEBOSH General/Construction Certificate / IOSH Managing Safely or similar qualifications.
- Sound I.T skills which should include Outlook, Excel & Word.
- Experience using Cloud-based IT systems such as Aconex, Buzzsaw or similar, or the use of previous permitting software.
- Good interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate at all levels.
- Pro-active approach with sound organisational, leadership and motivational skills.
**About the Team**:
Our Estates and Facilities Team maintain all aspects of the Campus which includes but is not limited to; Engineering, Compliance, Cleaning, Catering, Waste, Grounds, Wetlands Nature Reserve, Green Transport, Nursery, Energy, Waste, and Infrastructure (Major) Projects.
**Other Information**:
Salary in the region of £41,000 to £45,000
