To extract and code all inpatient Finished Consultant Episodes (FCEs) using 3Ms Medicode encoder system which incorporates International Classification of Diseases version 10 (ICD10) and Office of Population Census and Surveys version 4 (OPCS4) coding manuals applying national rules and conventions To ensure all FCEs are completed and data input by monthly Performance Management (Trust) deadlines To gain a continuing understanding of HRGs and Financial Flows so as to ensure that the Clinical Coding process delivers good quality, timely data To participate in departmental audit programme through both: Having own work audited to ensure expertise maintained in all areas By data validating specific coding issues To raise coding or data issues with the management team and work to resolve To have output monitored to ensure full contribution to departmental workload To both participate in and support the departmental training programme: By attending internal training programmes Through mentoring and sharing of knowledge with peers and more junior codes To communicate and liaise effectively with clinicians and other healthcare professionals at all levels of queries with varying levels of complexity, relating to clinical information
