**THE ROLE**

To help us achieve our future ambitions and current organisational objectives, we’re looking for a talented and driven Executive Assistant to work with the CEO and the Chair of Board of Trustees. You’d be working alongside a high performing leadership team and a passionate, highly effective Board of Trustees, supporting the CEO office to ensure the organisation runs efficiently, effectively and compliantly.

We know how vital operating with good governance is, and we’re committed to working with integrity and transparency, even when we get it wrong. You would be responsible for the secretariat for our organisational governance, working with the Director of Strategy & Governance, making sure that we are holding ourselves to account. Please don’t worry if you don’t have governance experience, a willingness to learn about charity governance, great organisational skills and a curiosity is all that you need.

It’s a busy CEO office so you’d need to be proactive, skilled at multi-tasking and as comfortable building relationships with parents and young people as you are politicians. Often you’d need to say no to people, so you would need to bring charm and empathy to the role. You’d manage two busy diaries and we’d be looking for you to be able to proactively prioritise what’s important and necessary. To do this effectively you would have a passion for the cause and want to get under the skin of the organisation.

The EA will also chair our PA network, establishing the group and setting clear aims and objectives, looking at how you can develop the ways of working and identifying areas of process improvement as well as taking on dedicated projects.

Young Lives vs Cancer is open to and in support of flexible working. We are currently defining our approach to hybrid working. Your flexibility requirements and that of the role will be discussed at interview stage with you.
- Providing high quality support to the Chief Executive and Chair
- Managing projects on behalf of the Chief Executive and Chair
- Governance Officer providing high quality, executive administrative support Board of Trustees and its committees to operate effectively. Supporting the effective working of the Board of Trustees and Executive Team, ensuring that decisions and actions are implemented and undertaking specific projects relating to the requirements of the Governance Office.
- Managing and administrating the organisational Governance calendar and procedures
- Managing and Chairing the organisational PA network and team - leading and role modelling the PAs in establishing ways of working and behaviours.
- Managing corporate administrative processes, ensuring compliance and best practice
- Acting on own initiative in support of corporate management goals
- Manage Board of Trustee meetings
- Manage Executive Team meetings

**ABOUT YOU**
- Experience of working as an Executive Assistant and Personal Assistant to a Director or CEO
- Excellent administration and organisational skills
- Brilliant interpersonal skills, an ability to build and develop relationships at every level, from major donor to volunteer, government minister to young cancer patient
- Confidence to say no when necessary and delegate appropriately
- Ability to work with and in a team but also be independent when necessary
- A willingness to try new things, we believe process improvement and thinking differently not only embeds innovative thinking but allows us to get better
- Gravitas and professionalism
- Time management skills, ability to be efficient
- Proactive and ability to think on your feet
