Matron for Neonatal Services

Work in collaboration with the Facilities team to ensure that support services, including cleaning schedules are reflective of the needs of the clinical areas and that the environment is maintained appropriately. Act as familys advocate in promoting, and delivering the highest standard of care, and monitor compliance against current, relevant policies and procedures. Provide a visible, accessible and authoritative presence to whom families can turn for assistance. Ensure the fundamental and essential aspects of care are met and measured by benchmarking.
Lead clinical governance initiatives ensuring a process of quality improvement and driving up standards of nursing care. Take on an active role in the quality and risk agenda Contribute to developing and measuring and monitoring nursing performance Ensure that equipment is clean, well maintained and fit for purpose and that staff are trained in its use accordingly. Provide support and advice on issues relating to safeguarding children/protecting children/domestic violence and vulnerable adults for nurses/midwives and support staff in the Division. Contribute to Clinical Governance, CNST/ NHSLA, CQC requirements, and Research and Development initiatives, providing professional advice and Provide evidence for compliance and lead on action plans where gaps are identified.
Review all adverse clinical incidents and investigate as needed, reporting and providing evidence of learning as appropriate Comply with Trust policy for management and administration of medicines, proactively working with clinical teams to reduce the severity of medicine related incidents Identify areas of special interest, practice development, and service improvement delegating to team members as appropriate Undertake clinical duties to maintain professional competence, authority and credibility.
