Laboratory Assistant

Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Assistant to join their team based in Riccarton, Edinburgh
Joining them on a full time or part time basis, you will provide support to the laboratory analysts enabling them to deliver excellent service for their clients.
**Laboratory Assistant Responsibilities**:
- Weighing samples and filtering sample media
- Processing samples received ready for analysis
- Ordering stock and sending their sample media to clients
- Data entry and maintenance of the laboratory systems and documentation
- Maintaining and organising work benches
- Compliance with IOM quality assurance and health and safety systems
**Laboratory Assistant Requirements**:
- You have a general interest in science coupled with a general education
- Competent numerical, written and IT skills
- Flexible and adaptable, along with willingness and ability to learn new skills
- Proven ability to work in teams, including interdisciplinary teams with others from a wide range of backgrounds
- Have a keen attention to detail and enjoy fast paced work
- Confident communicator and willing to ask questions
