Role: HR & Site Administrator

Company: Ingevity UK Ltd

Department: Human Resources

Reports to: HR Director - International

Competitive Salary & Benefits Package

About Us

Ingevity provides specialty chemicals and high-performance carbon materials and technologies that purify, protect and enhance the world around us. Through a team of talented and experienced people, Ingevity develops, manufactures and brings to market products and processes that help customers solve complex problems. Headquartered in North Charleston, South Carolina, Ingevity operates from 31 countries around the world and employs approximately 1,900 people.

Ingevity has a great opportunity for an experienced administrator to join our HR team, based at our manufacturing site in Warrington. Reporting to the HR Director and working closely with the HR Business Partner you will provide the highest standard of support to the HR Team and the business. Every day is different (we mean it) but if you absolutely insist on knowing, then we’d say the following will be part of your life here:
1 - Managing the end-to-end new employee onboarding from offer stage to day 1 of employment.

2 - Managing multiple IT systems including Workday, employee benefit portals, payroll systems and reporting from each of them.

3 - Drafting and issuing of key employment documents such as offer letters, contracts.

4 - Arranging and coordinating site events including social and business functions.

5 - Managing the office resources and supplies.

Now, here’s the really good bit. In addition to all that, this role represents a real opportunity to grow. We don’t want you just pushing paper around and tapping keyboards all the time, so you’ll be given opportunities to lead the charge for the business in areas such as our charitable programme - IngeviCares (which we’re proud of), heading up our efforts to promote inclusivity and diversity along with assisting with recruitment up to a certain level. If that’s not enough, then rest assured there are many other opportunities with us - we’re a global business after all so you’d expect no less.

Here's the catch - we’re picky and only want the best so here’s what you’ll need to show us:

- World class administration capability. It won’t be enough to tell us you work in a structured way and that you keep lists and prioritise
- we will want to see how you can effectively juggle multiple priorities and retain the level of ownership and excellence that we demand.
- We like our people to take ownership so no micromanagement here - you’ll need to show us that you can do the essentials and help us to improve. If you find a better way, we’ll rarely say no, but that improvement focus will be key.
- People - you’d think this bit was obvious, but we’ll say it anyway. You’ll need to have a strong people focus and affiliation where your willingness to go the extra mile is what makes you stand out. You’ll be dealing with pretty much everybody here so they’ll all need that welcoming smile and to leave knowing you either have helped or will help them with what they need.
- Sense of humour - we should have placed this nearer the top, but it’s too late now as our fingers are tired from all this typing. You’ll definitely need one of these in addition to having a down to earth, not take yourself too seriously kind of personality. We do allow fun here.
- Though the role is with the HR team we’re not too fussy about your industry background (see - told you we were different) and despite this being unusual, the role may be ideally suited to you if you have worked in a high paced regula
