**Job purpose**:
The academic administrator provides administrative support to seniors (especially to L&T and the CEO). Manage enquiries from different School departments. Work with seniors, other bodies and task/project groups. assist with recruitment (if needed), or alumni relations and marketing activities.

**Key Responsibilities (Not limited too)**:
Ensuring that Seniors receive timely and accurate information.

To provide a comprehensive administrative service to permanent senior staff and their groups.

Supporting, assisting and overseeing the additional academic/non-academic projects within the School/College.

Preparing correspondence, reports, papers, and slides, arranging room bookings, and assisting with other School/College events.

To receive and respond to visitors and telephone callers in a customer-focused and responsive manner, dealing with the majority of callers and referring to others as necessary.

To manage and maintain office systems and procedures e.g. electronic and paper filing.

To manage travel arrangements (if needed) for nominated staff and their groups, both in the UK and abroad.

To place online orders to outside suppliers.

To use initiative to develop administrative procedures which respond to the needs of the department and its staff.

To assist with any ad-hoc or planned projects as instructed by the Seniors.

Assists with training and overseeing any tasks/projects for the academic department.

Assists with administrative support to a team of seniors and the CEO.

Deal with queries and complaints procedures

Use information systems and prepare reports and statistics for both internal and external use.

Collaborate with other administrative staff.

Organise and facilitate a variety of educational or social activities.

To develop good working relationships and maintain good communication with other support staff colleagues, and other departments and services within the School/College.

To work flexibly as a member of a team providing the full range of administrative support to senior academics.

To take responsibility for your own professional training and development.

**Skills and abilities**:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work well under pressure, prioritise workload and show initiative.

Ability to perform routine and non-routine tasks effectively and in a timely manner.

Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and
Outlook.

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to deal with confidential matters with complete discretion.

Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

Ability to work well under pressure with mínimal supervision, to multi-task, to prioritise workflow independently, to work to deadlines and show initiative.

Ability to develop good working relationships with external third parties and others.

Ability to work flexibly, particularly when deadlines need to be met e.g. to meet deadlines and when organising large meetings.

Ability to pay close attention to detail.

**Qualifications/experience required**:

- Minimum to degree level
- Experience in a similar role in a school, college or university setting.
- Strong organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with academic policies and regulations.
- Experience working with students, campuses, and staff in an educational setting
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail to avoid mistakes
- The ability to cope with a heavy workload and frequent interruptions

The ability to deal positively with change
