**Aims of this position**

As a member of the Academic Administration Team of the College, working under the Academic Registrar, the post-holder will provide high-level expert registrarial support and help administrate the College’s academic provision, staff and students. This will include supporting safeguarding and additional needs provision within the College.

**Principal Activities**

**Academic Regulation and Implementation**
- Advise and support the College’s excellence in academic provision, regulations and administration;
- Provide accurate, timely and clear academic advice and guidance to students, in line with the College’s qualification and assessment regulation requirements;
- Advise on the programme regulations in order to determine decisions for recognition of prior learning for applicants in the Admissions process;
- Ensure the correct dissemination of this information amongst relevant staff;
- With the Academic Registrar, implement and manage the College’s assessment processes, from planning through to implementation, including liaising with all stakeholders (e.g. staff, external examiners, our validating institution). This extends through to the publishing of results and, where necessary, issuing transcripts of performance to past students.

**Published Information**
- In liaison with the Academic Registrar, be responsible for the creation/update, approval by
College committees (where necessary) and timely publication, distribution and maintenance of key academic administration documents;
- Attend and participate in Academic Committees, meetings, and working groups, as required;
- Participate in the annual review of relevant policies/regulations and all College Handbooks.

**Curriculum Development & Quality Assurance**
- Support and participate in programme preparation and panels for academic programmes’ validation/review events, external agency inspections/audits as required;
- Maintain the College’s student records (on EBS), ensuring their accuracy, integrity and security at all times, including compliance with all relevant Data Protection legislation;
- Contribute to the periodic returns required by external agencies;

- Use the College’s student record system, and the Virtual Learning Environment (Moodle) to create and support the annual curriculum cycle, and to produce statistics and reports, as required;
- Identify which students are completing their studies and will be leaving College and which will continue with or transfer to higher-level studies within the College.

**College-Wide & Other Activities**

Additional Needs Officer
Undertake the role of College Additional Needs Officer, involving:

- providing expert advice on compliance with all relevant legislation;
- receiving and assessing declared additional needs among new students;
- providing help and advice in the completion of assessment forms (where relevant);
- examining educational psychologist/medical reports to assess what ‘reasonable adjustments’ may be given to support students’ learning. Assist in confirming these allowances to students and advising all relevant Faculty/Support Staff members;
- help advise and enable the College’s enhancement of its provision for the needs of all students and staff.

Safeguarding Officer
Undertake the role of College Safeguarding Officer, involving:

- being the first person available to receive safeguarding concerns, and to record and respond to them in accordance with legal requirements, good practice, and a concern for the flourishing of all;
- this will be undertaken in concert with, and supported by, the College’s Director of Pastoral Care.

**Other Activities**
- The post holder shall be expected to provide assistance to other members of the Academic
Administration Team at peak workload times and assist with providing cover during the absence of other team members;
- Any other tasks which are broadly commensurate with this role’s level of responsibility.
