Working within our forward-thinking Water Treatment department, you’ll work at our Mythe & Mitcheldean sites, covering a large geographical area. It’s a great opportunity to be part of a large Operational team, striving for goal zero from a safety perspective, continuously improving site standards. In your role you will have the opportunity to embrace curiosity and learn new skills outside of your ‘day job’. We’re big believers in training, learning, and development at Severn Trent. So as part of the role, you will undertake a Level 2 apprenticeship as part of your technical training. This training will take a minimum of 12 months, up to 15 months with 3 days a month in Coventry at our Academy.

As part of the training, we’ll also help you to achieve a Functional skills level 1 qualification if you’re not able to evidence your GCSE grades. There is lots of support available to complete this before you take your qualification, and you can have up to 12 months to get ready.

In addition to this, you will complete a portfolio of work that will be assessed at the end of your training and you will also be assessed independently on site to demonstrate you are capable to carry out all of your role.

Your key accountabilities in helping us will be:

- Operate distribution service reservoirs (DSR) and distribution booster stations (DBS) associated assets.
- Maintain & improve site standards/ identify Health and Safety improvements.
- Operate the assets under your control to ensure that all quality and quantity limits are met.
- Participate in an out of hours standby rota.
- Ensure the Health & Safety of yourself, colleagues, visitors and members of the public is maintained at all times.
- Ensure sites are operated at a minimum cost in an energy efficient way.
- Comply with statutory, company policies and procedures.
- Operate the assets under your control to ensure that there is no adverse impact on the environment.

**WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR**

Having experience in water treatment or other production processes would be advantageous and working with chemical processes would be beneficial. A full valid UK driving licence would be required for the role. A C1 driving licence would also be required, if you already hold this it would be advantageous but we can support you through the training if required. Please note this role requires you to work with gas chemicals and therefore use breathing apparatus.
