**About the Role**:
In this role you will be responsible for undertaking a wide range of secretarial and administrative duties and the provision of administrative support to the multidisciplinary team. Main duties are listed below however it should be noted that the under-mentioned duties and responsibilities do not cover the whole spectrum of activities, and these may change from time to time.
Main responsibilities - To act as medical secretary to the Partnership and undertake all secretarial duties as directed:
- Processing information (electronic and hard copy) in a timely manner.
- Liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers in accordance with current policies, including the use of the electronic referral service (ERS).
- Liaising with patients, the public and other healthcare professionals as required.
- Processing referrals using SystmOne.
- Producing minutes for partnership meetings.
- Taking and transcribing minutes at designated practice meetings.
- Answering and making telephone calls appropriate to the role, dealing with the callers request appropriately.
- Ensuring that confidentiality is maintained at all times in line with GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), Confidentiality, Caldicott and Access Polices.
- Working as part of the team to ensure premises/ facilities are secure and kept clean and. tidy throughout the day in line with Health and Safety and Infection Control requirements.
Essential:
- Experience of Microsoft Office software
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail, grammar and spelling
- Able to communicate complex information to others
- Understanding, acceptance and adherence of the need for strict confidentiality
- Confident and able to work under pressure
- Self-motivated able to use own judgement and common sense

We are a forward-thinking, dynamic and friendly general practice which comprises eight GP partners, salaried GPs, GP registrars, highly-skilled nursing staff and an efficient admin team.
We operate from three locations and provide high quality care to over 17,000 patients in Norwich. We are also a teaching practice for medical students and physician associates. We host a number of other services from our Gurney Surgery including a PCN pharmacist and PCN physiotherapy service.
