The Supported Accommodation Review Team (SART) is a multi-disciplinary team based in the Private Housing Service, but with Adult Social Care and Housing Benefit functions.

The post holder will be an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team, working with Housing Enforcement Officers and Adult Social Care colleagues to monitor and review housing and support standards within private rented accommodation in the city where residents are being supported via the Support Exempt Housing Benefit system.

The post holder will be expected to work with autonomy with regard to the Housing Benefit role within the team, whilst working together with Housing Enforcement colleagues undertaking housing inspections, and Adult Social Care colleagues assessing the quality of support to fulfil the responsibility for assessing whether accommodation and support provision is suitable and ensure that the Housing Benefit system is administered in the best way to optimise outcomes for some of the city’s most vulnerable residents. The post holder is expected to work directly with residents ensuring that supported accommodation providers meet the necessary legal and support delivery requirements required by Housing Benefit Legislation and relevant Guidance, and to liaise with the Private Housing Service and Adult Social Care in taking appropriate action to ensure compliance and address non-compliance.

This post is fixed term until 31 March 2025 due to funding
