We’re seeking an enthusiastic Project Worker to make a difference to the lives of our customers. At The Avenues Project, we support single adults who are experiencing homelessness and provide them with safe accommodation and the skills and knowledge to move back into the community successfully.

We provide a comprehensive induction programme as well as on-going training to develop new and existing skills and encourage progression. Sanctuary has their own Learning and Development Academy, who provide a wide range of training courses, open to all.

**The role of Project Worker will include**:

- Supporting our customers to maximise their independence and move forward with their lives
- Assisting with assessing customers’ needs by writing and updating customer notes/support and risk management plans
- Supporting customers in their day to day living i.e., with cooking and cleaning
- Being a first point of call to receive and direct all customer queries
- Developing good relationships with customers, helping them develop life skills
- Working with external agencies to support customers in accessing specialised support services
- Handling occasional emergency/challenging situations
- Some health and safety responsibilities e.g., fire safety checks
- Moving our customers on to permanent accommodation

**Skills and experiences**:

- Previous experience and understanding of the complex needs of homeless individuals either through work experience or with direct family or personal experience
- An understanding of trauma informed approach to the complex needs our customers face
- A positive and accepting approach to customers whatever their needs
- Understanding of housing management including voids and arrears management
- Good understanding of occupancy agreements
- The ability to work on your own initiative, sourcing innovative solutions to enhance the independence of customers
- Ability to keep accurate records and clearly communicate relevant information
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel or similar
- NVQ3 in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards is desirable
