An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced payroll professional to take full ownership of the group payroll function - and provide transactional support across a busy finance function.

Key duties include:

- Processes payroll across the group every pay period
- Maintains payroll processing system and records by gathering, calculating, and inputting data
- Perform year-end procedures, including completion of P60’s for all staff and P11d’s for directors and staff with benefits
- Computes employee take-home pay based on time records, benefits, and taxes
- Answers staff questions about wages, deductions, attendance, and time records
- Manages company pension schemes and government NOW pension scheme.
- Maintains and reconciles monthly company pension files and uploads to the Pension Provider’s database
- Liaise with company pension brokers re: annual visits.
- Handles changes in exemptions and job status.
- Adheres to payroll policies and procedures and complies with relevant law
- Identifies, investigates, and resolves discrepancies in timesheet and payroll records
- Completes payroll reports for record-keeping purposes or managerial review
- Determines tax obligations as well as National Insurance contributions.
- Performs the distribution of wages through issuance of direct transfers to employees’ bank accounts
- Assisting in the finance function including:

- Help maintaining purchase ledgers, matching, checking and coding invoices whilst maintaining records and reconciling to supplier statements
- Setting up new supplier accounts and maintaining existing supplier accounts
- Processing payments via BACS
- Upholding strong levels of control across the finance function
