**About us**:
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Award Services in Research & Innovation Services (RIS) We are hiring two Research Finance Administrators who are driven, detail-oriented individuals and passionate about delivering effective and efficient processes to support change and improve support for departments and academics.

Award Services, one of four teams within RIS, provides a range specialist advice to UCL's externally funded research and innovation portfolio through the departments of: Research Support & Development (Pre-award); European Research and Innovation Office; Finance and Compliance (Post-Award). The service is delivered in partnership with academic and professional services colleagues across UCL, collaborating organisations, and funders.

**About the role**:
**_This is an internal secondment role, available to current UCL staff only._**

**_ Please note that the expected end date for these posts are 31_**_st_**_ December 2023._**

We are looking for two Research Finance Administrators (Service Improvement) to join the Finance and Compliance (Post-Award) to work on a short-term continuous improvement project (aged awards), working closely with colleagues within RIS Planning, Insight and Improvement team and UCL Finance. These roles are available immediately and the project is expected to be completed by the end of December 2023.

Joining an established and knowledgeable post-award team, this role will be responsible for reviewing and assessing our research and innovation portfolio to ensure the successful execution and closure of aged awards. In addition, you will work with the team to review current processes and guidance, identify improvements as well as providing support and training for departments as needed. You will report to a Research Finance Manager (Service Improvement), who will also be recruited on secondment basis to the team.

The role holders will gain experience in supporting a strategic project, as well as continuous improvement skills and in depth understanding of finance and compliance issues within a research-intensive organisation.

This role is eligible for hybrid working with a minimum of 20% on site.

**About you**:
With previous financial administrative experience in a research and innovation environment, together with knowledge of the research funding landscape, you will have the ability to prioritise project workloads involving changing circumstances and conflicting priorities. Comfortable with rapid change, you are happy to be part of a close-knit team with shared objectives.
