When they came across a lonely, isolated 16-year-old who called himself a failure, they knew what to do. They worked 1-2-1 to find the thing this boy really loved. YouTube, it turned out. But it’s impossible to turn that into a career, right? Wrong. A week later, he was enrolled on the British Film Institute film-making programme. It was the ultimate light-bulb moment. And it turned him into what he is today - a budding Spielberg with a world of opportunity at his feet.

**The Role**:
As our Senior Creative Services Officer, you can make your own a powerful contribution to engaging others and helping them change their lives for the better. Joining our talented, multi-disciplinary communications team, you'll help shape and deliver the messaging our residents, businesses and visitors see on a daily basis. An advisor and tactician as well as a maker, you will lead on a wide range of campaign content creation and planning from physical communications such as posters, magazines and flyers, to digital output such as video and photography for our social media channels and websites. It's a demanding, fast-paced role that sees you working on many different projects, across a variety of disciplines, at any one time. Whether you're crafting persuasive copy or shooting films to inspire, we'll give you plenty of opportunity to flex your creative muscles.

**About You**:
Able to combine serious messaging with innovative thinking, you're likely to have experience working in multi-media communications, preferably within local government or a campaigning organisation. You'll bring an ambitious yet pragmatic approach to managing challenges. Demonstrable experience in creating content and online experiences according to best practice is important, along with proven experience of designing, implementing and monitoring the success of content policies and guidelines. Good time management is key to juggling the many priorities, as are stakeholder management skills for dealing with the competing requests from services across the council. Above all, you'll be a team player and an exceptional communicator.
