Schools HR Consultant

I am working with a Public Sector Organisation based in Hammersmith and Fulham who are looking for a HR Consultant for 3 Months Initially.

The role is full time, to start ASAP and paying £253.49 Umbrella per day. The role is in scope of IR35.

Job Purpose
- The schools HR team delivers a commercially traded service to schools across H&F and West London. Every school that buys our specialist HR services has a named HR Consultant who develops a close relationship with their client schools and provides a bespoke HR service. The HR consultants work closely and flexibly with school leaders to ensure that difficult HR issues are addressed promptly, effectively and sensitively, freeing their time to focus on the demands of running their schools.
- The team provides professional, friendly and timely advice to school leaders on all HR and employment law related issues. We guide school leaders through complex change management processes including workforce planning, restructuring, redundancy, TUPE and retirement. We provide expert support with disciplinary, grievance, capability, performance and sickness issues..
- The schools HR team works in partnership with our colleagues in Legal ServicesFinance, Occupational Health and Childrens' Services (Safeguarding) to ensure that our customers receive a joined-up, expert and prompt response.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop key projects within schools HR, through a consultancy approach with clients.
- Develop a plan to address people management issues in your schools, agreed with clients and your Business Partner.
- This plan will have measurable milestones for the identification and design of interventions for improvements.
- Provide advice, guidance, and options within your allocation of schools.
- Deliver key projects and learning events for improving the effectiveness of services through improving people management practice, including management, organisational design, change management and continuous improvement.
- Create effective relationships with your allocated schools and key contacts.
- Manage and oversee complex case work in a timely manner, including ensuring recommendations for learning and improvement are implemented fully.
- Provide coaching capacity for school leaders as part of their development or through specific interventions.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- The ability to understand and demonstrate both the professional discipline and the wider requirements for people management and staffing within schools.
- A structured approach to planning and organising work to deliver to plan and exceed expectations.
- A knowledge of measurement and the use of data to identify, monitor and demonstrate delivery of objectives.
- The ability to support school staffing restructures from commencement to end.
- Able to identify key issues and establish an intervention that will achieve a positive outcome and continuous improvement
- Work in collaboration with the wider schools HR team to demonstrate support of the business objectives.
- Be proactive and demonstrate resilience.
- Fantastic communication skills to build confidence and develop rapport with our schools customers.
- Experienced in the use of Job Evaluation, as well as recruitment and resourcing and reward
- Experienced in coaching managers to handle employee relations case work
