StokeonTrent, United Kingdom North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust Full time

The Adult ASD Assessment Service are looking to recruit a full time Band 7 Liaison Lead.

The successful postholder will lead in the development of a new service with the aim of reducing/preventing hospital admission of autistic adults (non-learning disabled) as part of the existing ASD assessment and diagnosis.

We provide services to people with a wide range of mental health and learning disability needs. Sometimes our service users need to spend time in hospital, but much more often we are able to provide care in community settings and in people’s own homes.

We also provide specialist mental health services such as child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS), substance misuse services and psychological therapies, plus a range of clinical and non-clinical services to support University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust (UHNM)
- The key aims of this post are to improve the quality of care received by autistic people with significant mental health needs in three main areas: a) when people are admitted to acute psychiatric inpatient wards within the trust b) when people are receiving input from Community Adult Mental Health Services and are at high risk of admission to an acute inpatient bed and c) when autistic people are transitioning back to North Staffordshire with mental health needs after receiving treatment in an out of area hospital.
- To take a lead role in the development and day to day running of the new service, working in consultation and collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team members and service users.
- Development of the roles of band 6 and band 4 practitioners and band 3 peer support workers.
- Supervision of band 6 and 4 practitioners and band 3 peer support workers.
- Working therapeutically in community settings.
- Establishing links with key local ASD and other voluntary sector organisations.
- Working in collaboration with existing mental health services such as Community Mental Health Teams, Access Services and other Trust teams as appropriate.
- Provide ASD assessment and diagnosis

Our vision is ‘To be Outstanding in all we do and how we do it.’ Our teams pride themselves on compassion, team work and resilience. The Trust supports you by offering a flexible shift system including twilight shifts and compressed hours to support working families and our staff parking is free on all our main sites.

As an employee and representative of the Trust, you are required to demonstrate and uphold the Trust’s Values. These are:
