Nottinghamshire Sexual Violence Support Services is the leading specialist sexual abuse charity, for over 40 years we have been passionately committed to supporting all adults living in Nottingham or Nottinghamshire, who have experienced sexual abuse, we listen, believe and support. We offer a single point of contact for survivors of sexual violence of any kind whether the abuse took place in childhood or adult life. We provide free services including counselling, group therapy, Independent Sexual Violence Advisors (ISVA) services, telephone helpline, online and face to face services.
Our services are created in partnership with local commission groups and co-designed with survivors, so that we support in ways that are safe and easy to access. We understand the needs of different survivors including age, gender, or whether a person is BAME or LGBT+. We have a wide range of support options and can refer into other services as needed.

**The Vacancy**
We are looking for a qualified ISVA or Trainee ISVA to join our ISVA Service. Our ISVA service offers practical support to anybody aged 18 and over who has experienced sexual violence. We can assist understanding rights and the services available for support. Our high quality, accredited and award winning ISVA service is completely independent from the Police. All of our ISVAs have received accredited ISVA training and complete on-going training and development to improve their skills and abilities.

Nottingham City based, various Nottingham(shire) outreach locations.
**Salary**
SCP 17 £27,650 (pro-rata) - Trainee ISVA
SCP 22 £30,322 (pro-rata) - Qualified ISVA
Please note that full time hours are 37.5 hours per week.

**Hours of work**
37.5 hours per week, worked Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm
**Job purpose**
- The role is to offer practical support to anyone aged 18 years and over who has experienced sexual violence/abuse.
- To work within a multi-agency setting to assist survivors/victims to access appropriate services such as housing, benefits, health services etc.
- To support those who wish to report to the Police, through the criminal justice process, including liaising with the Police and any other criminal justice agency.
**Responsibilities**
- Develop in conjunction with the survivor/victim an individual outcome-focused support plan and risk management plan to address risk and support needs.
- Provide face to face, online and telephone support to survivors/victims and their supporters.
- Support partnership working between the survivor/victim and statutory agencies.
- To signpost/refer to appropriate support agencies
- To support survivors/victims (where appropriate) through the criminal justice system.
**Essential experience, qualifications, and skills**:
- To have extensive experience of working with adult victims and survivors as an ISVA, counsellor, support worker, crisis worker or similar role.
- Ability to understand and manage trauma responses, with experience of using ground techniques where appropriate.
- Experience of completing risk assessments and making safeguarding referrals.
- Knowledge of the Criminal Justice System and ability to support survivors where appropriate.
- To be able to travel around the County and be flexible as to working some unsociable hours, when necessary.
- Experience and a keen interest of working with hard to reach and BAME survivors would be welcomed.
