We have an exciting opportunity to join our Public Health Team as a Project Officer (Children and Families) on a permanent contract.

The Public Health Team is committed to protecting, promoting, and improving the health and well-being of the people of Solihull, supporting people to live longer and healthier lives by improving health and wellbeing and reducing inequalities.

The Project Officer will provide support to the Interim Head of Children’s Public Health, undertaking specific projects and programmes of work to assist in the delivery of team tasks with a specific focus on:

- ‘Start for life’ services to support good early child development from pregnancy to 5 years, including infant mental health and supporting school readiness
- Supporting service delivery for children and young people’s health from 0-25 years, in commissioned services and Family Hubs

You will be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise and engage with partners to manage project outcomes. You will be able to adapt your communication style as required and help projects run smoothly by finding practical solutions to complex problems.

This opportunity will provide invaluable experience to progress into a career in Public Health. The Project Officer will have the opportunity to learn more about Public Health, health policy, and the use of research and evidence to bring about change. The post holder will develop their knowledge of health inequalities, child health as well as their understanding of the importance of the wider determinants of health to support better health outcomes.
