We are looking for a well organised and proactive individual to take on the responsibility of Resource Planning Support. You’ll join our Resource Planning Team, to ensure Train Crew are released for development and assessments, with mínimal disruption to Northerns Train Services.

**About the role**:
All Northern Traincrew complete an apprenticeship as part of their development in role as a Train Conductor and Train Driver. Due to the development taking place whilst working, its vitally important for them to spend time with the Apprenticeship Development team, whilst also maintaining their current workloads.

As the Resource Planning Support, it will be your responsibility to ensure the release of approximately 500 Traincrew employees to develop, whilst also making certain our Train services are fully resourced.

In this highly organised role, you will work collaboratively with Resource Planning and the Apprenticeship Development team. You’ll support with short term planning diagram extraction and distribution, taking into account and mitigating risks arising from making changes to roster patterns and the requirements of the apprenticeship delivery plans.

**Key responsibilities**:
In this highly organised and meticulous role, your day-to-day activities could include:

- Create and maintain traincrew records to ensure all apprentice reviews and End Point Assessments are documented and updated weekly.
- Liaise with the Apprentice Governance Team to ensure arrangements are in place to release apprentices for Progress Reviews and End Point Assessments
- Maintain and produce records of traincrew equalisation and assist in the release of traincrew for other required assessments, meetings or reviews.
- Maintain and produce an advance forecast for the Apprentice Governance Team and update it as necessary.
- Where necessary covering for the Resource Systems assistant role.

**About you**:
You’ll be exceptionally organised and proactive individual, with great analytical skills. With your keen attention to detail and the ability to manage complex schedules, you’ll be able to demonstrate your ability to manage resource effectively. You’ll also have excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach, whilst also being able to adapt and handle changing priorities.

We’re also looking for the following:

- Ideally educated to GCSE level or higher, or equivalent.
- Experience in an administration role.
- Knowledge of train crew rostering terms and conditions would be advantageous but not essential.
- Highly motivated and flexible to work across a wide spectrum of administration activities.
- IT literate, able to use Word/Excel, and demonstrate attention to detail.
- Strong team player and a good all-around communicator with sound verbal and written skills.
