**Operational Planning Team**
We have a central team of Operational Planners, who take Network Rail's engineering access plan, constructing a Timetable which will include the ambitions of the business and our stakeholders and a Train Plan/Timetable (STP) which our Rolling Stock and Human Resource can deliver. However, almost every week our timetable changes for engineering work and major enhancement of the fixed infrastructure, which is currently seeing a huge amount of effort.
**Role Overview**
You will be leading a team of Short-Term Planning Specialists to develop Train Plans to meet Informed Traveller timescales and franchise obligations. This role will require you to work collaboratively with all areas of the business and Network Rail to deliver timetable solutions which contribute to the success of the business and customer satisfaction.
We are looking for someone with applied knowledge of the Timetable Planning Processes at Supervisory level including experience in Resource Management and associated workload allocation. Your understanding of Timetable Planning will help discussions around best practice and long-term solutions, creating a culture of positive stakeholder engagement by both anticipating and enabling business needs including:
- Produce Timetable Planning Team, work plan to ensure robust delivery of the company's Informed Traveller commitment.
- Develop and implement efficient amended Timetable Plans (STP), working with Network Rail and other Train Operators.
- In collaboration with the commercial team, develop amended timetable plans (STP) which maximises financial revenue opportunities on behalf of the organisation.
- Chair weekly What's Happening Conference with representatives from across the business to ensure awareness and all arrangements are in place;
- Lead the production of amended timetable plans, ensuring compliance with Services Agreement;
- Oversee the development and implementation (create Bid, review Offer and finalise) of amended timetable plans in consultation with the Commercial and Operations teams, to ensure these are resourced in an efficient and cost effective manner, and that such plan is robust in performance terms;
- Maintain a secondary competence role for the purpose of Contingency Planning
- Ensure relevant training and competencies are gained and maintained in order to resource our continued service during times of disruption
**Essential Requirements of the role**:
- Detailed knowledge of Timetable Planning
- Detailed knowledge of Network Rail's Train Planning Rules
- Understanding of Engineering Access documentation and procedures
- Detailed knowledge of the Informed Traveller process (T-12 Licence Condition)
- Network Rail - Part D
- Computer and spreadsheet literate
- Expert user of train planning systems
