**Job summary**

The PCN Digital Lead role for the Hastings and St. Leonards Primary Care Network is an excellent opportunity to be central in developing digital solutions in a large and rapidly-growing PCN.

The purpose of the role is to provide in-house digital expertise and management for the PCN and IFH. This will be in leading the digital aspects of the development of all new PCN services and projects, and general development of the organisations IT hardware and software platforms. The role also includes performing and facilitating data-analysis and presentation around IIF and other PCN targets.

The role includes 5 weeks of annual leave and access to the NHS Pension.

**Main duties of the job**

The core responsibilities of the role include:

- Procurement and integration of digital systems within the PCN and development of tools to support the delivery of the PCN DES;
- Procurement and integration of digital systems to support IFHs service contracts (new/existing);
- Provide training for PCN staff to use digital solutions where appropriate;
- Support PCN systems integration with practice systems;
- Support practice teams with queries relating to the PCN and IFH digital queries ad hoc and at internal PCN engagement forum;
- Development of EMIS PCN Clinical Service to include all existing and new PCN services (eg Enhanced Access);
- Procurement/development of tools to reduce workload within PCN projects and Practices;
- Attend relevant forums on behalf of the PCN/IFH;
- Arrange IT hardware contracts with IT suppliers/ICB;
- Maintenance/development of PCN and IFH data systems;
- Develop intra-PCN data analysis tools to guide service setup and develop existing services to meet the population needs;
- Report to and advise the PCN Operations Committee and the IFH Management;
- Ensuring PCN complies with relevant IT and data governance;
- Work with local partners (eg other federations) and represent the PCN re digital aspects of joint working eg SMS contracts, telephony;
- Maintain relationships with the ICB digital team;
- Comply with all relevant company policies including confidentiality, safeguarding etc;
- Engage in a cycle of appraisal and CPD;
**About us**

Hastings and St. Leonards Primary Care Network is a large PCN comprising 9 GP practices that serve a population of 100,000 patients. The network team works closely with each of the constituent practices to provide collaborative services, resolve shared problems and explore shared opportunities. The PCN team includes a dedicated infrastructure of Clinical Directors, Practice Representatives, Operational and Financial Management and Clinical and Non-Clinical Service teams including Covid Vaccination, Health Coaching, Clinical Pharmacy, First Contact Physiotherapy, Social Prescribing and Occupational Therapy.

Integrated Family Healthcare is the PCNs sister GP Federation, owned by the same group of GP practices. IFH seeks to hold clinical contracts to support local healthcare and provide a legal vehicle to support the PCN.

**Job responsibilities**

The purpose of the role is to provide in-house digital expertise and management for the PCN and IFH. The role also includes performing and facilitating data-analysis and presentation around IIF and other PCN targets.

This role also involves being the point of contact for practices and external stakeholders seeking support in integrating with PCN systems (however this is not a helpdesk role).

The role forms a key part of the PCN management team and includes a remit of regular tasks as well as ad hoc project development.

The role includes 5 weeks of annual leave and access to the NHS Pension.

**Experience**

**Essential**
- Experience working with General Practice
- Experience using EMIS or TPP clinical systems at a high level including search functions, template creation, protocols etc;
- Excellent general IT skills and the ability to understand and use new systems quickly;
- Experience in project management;
- Have a logical approach to solving problems;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a willingness to work as part of a team;
- Strong organisational skills;
- Proactive work style, must be able to solve problems autonomously;
- Must be able to take responsibility for the remit of tasks and progress, unsupported or proactively seek support from the available resources whenever necessary;
- Ability to manage own workload to maintain optimal effectiveness;
- The ability to work under direction, meeting deadlines as required;
- Show a capacity to work alone and the ability to work under time pressure;
- Manage and prioritise multiple tasks;
- Use a methodical working approach and meet deadlines;
