Job summary

We are a friendly group of professionals seeking an experienced individual in Primary care to manage and support the current management and leadership structure of our Primary Care Network (PCN). Clacton PCN is made up of 6 individual general practices across Tendring. With a diverse total patient population of around 45,000. The successful candidate will support delivery of additional services to the practices and our patient population group.

Main duties of the job

The business manager will be the first pointof contact for Practice Managers regarding delivery of Networkprojects/schemes.

Manage contractual requirements on behalfof the Network.

Co-ordinate training and development of PCNclinical/administrative staff

Co-ordinate the delivery of enhancedservices and other service submissions on behalf of the Network

Support recruitment, induction, andtraining of new PCN staff

Collate feedback / analysis data on behalfof the Network to report to the ICB as appropriate.

To manage the Workflow processes inrelation to the above

Take notes of meetings and circulate in atimely manner to other network members.

The PCN Business Manager willwork with the Clinical Director, member practices and the Digital andTransformation Lead to achieve consensus and drive through and deliver agreedchanges.

Job responsibilities

Clacton PCN has six member practices: -

Eastlynne Medical centre (lead practice),

Old Road surgery,

North Clacton Medical Centre,

Thorpe surgery,

Fronks Rd surgery

Harewood surgery

Together the practices have a patient population of approximately45,000. The PCN serves an area with pockets of significant deprivation. Thepopulation served by member practices is older than the national average.

The post-holder will be part of the PCN Management team, workingalongside the Clinical Director, Clinical Lead, Digital and Transformationlead, Finance assistant and Network practice members to deliver the PrimaryCare Networks agenda.

The PCN Business Manager is independent of member practices,acting as a source of expertise, to co-ordinate the management of allgovernance requirements, and to help shape and implement meaningful services inline with national and local policy and contracts, supporting member practicesand to achieve improved outcomes for the local population.

Experience

Essential

Primary Care experience. Proven knowledge and experience of working in a management role in primary or secondary care. Build strong personal relationships and have effective formal and informal networks. Able to write concise reports covering complex issues Previous project management expertise. Excellent interpersonal skills. Literate and a good communicator. IT and keyboard and social media skills. Good negotiation skills. Budget management experience. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong facilitation skills. Able to prioritise conflicting expectations.

Desirable

Previous experience of leading change management projects. Working with multidisciplinary health teams. Business development. Converting strategy into practical delivery. Expertise in contract management.

Special Attributes and Knowledge

Understanding of the health care system in relation to commissioners. Demonstrates a high level of integrity. Ability to work in a diverse environment.
