A bit about the role
As Head of Selfridges Selection you will lead a matrixed team with colleagues across B&M and Marketing, as well as working with multiple other stakeholders to build an Own Brand business. You will develop, implement and deliver the Own Brand strategy for Food to maximise sales, hit profit targets and create truly exceptional product and experiences for our customers.

As Head of Selfridges Selection, you will:

- Create the sales and performance strategy for Selfridges Selection, exploring new routes to market as well building on current success, engaging business leaders in the plan
- Build a compelling brand that is exceptional, differentiated from the competition and which embodies the Selfridges brand
- Collaborate with the leaders of various functions, including, Creative Direction, Design, Buying & Merchandising, Digital and Marketing
- Lead decision making for the brand and influencing change where needed, striving to deliver the overall strategy for Food and the business as a whole
- Steer the product development team, creative teams and the Food Buying team to build a product pipeline, develop and launch those products with confidence, maximising the likelihood of success
- Be passionate and knowledgeable about Food. Demonstrating exceptional awareness of competitors and external market trends.
- Continually strive to build mutually effective supplier relationships, as well as identify new sourcing opportunities that continuously improve quality.
- Manage and lead your team giving regular feedback and coaching.

A bit about you
- A natural leader. Able to set a vision and influence at a senior level as well as coaching team members to drive performance & enable change
- Commercially astute. You understand how to build a successful trading plan, with exceptional customer-focused knowledge in terms of markets and current trends. Taking opportunities to improve performance by creating and owning a clear plan to deliver results
- All over the numbers. You’ll have strong numerical and analytical skills, with a strong understanding of supply chain issues and cost such as e.g. product lead times/ flexibility/supplier capability
- A great communicator. Friendly and confident in your manner you excel in the relationships you build, internally and externally
- Engaging and collaborative, leading the matrixed team to and influencing multiple stakeholders across to drive change
- Naturally pragmatic and solutions orientated. You are calm under pressure and can give clear guidance
