**Contract Specialist**

A Japanese company based in Central London are currently looking for a Contracts Specialist to join their team. The company is a small size operation (less than 25 staff) and sell steel pipes mainly for oil and gas drilling, covering Europe, CIS, and the entire African Region. The role will be responsible for managing bid and contract documentation.

**Type**: Full time, Permanent
**Working hours**: Monday - Friday 9:00 - 17:00
**Location**: Central London (Hybrid working)
**Salary**: up to £100k depending on experience including benefits & bonus

**CONTRACT SPECIALIST MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Prepare bid and contract documentation
- Full contract review, assessing risk and making any necessary adjustments
- Attend customer meetings when necessary
- Negotiate contract terms with customers and business partners
- Act as a point of contact with external law firms
- Communicate with legal department and Headquarters in Japan
- Advising and supporting Japanese executives in company business as and when necessary

**CONTRACT SPECIALIST IDEAL CANDIDATE**:

- Hold a relevant qualification or qualified by experience
- Fluent in English (additional languages including French and Japanese would be beneficial but not essential)
- Experience of working as Contract Specialist or in a similar role
- Experience of liaising with customers and business partners
- Knowledge of the steel industry is advantageous
- Knowledge of oil country tubular goods including line pipes is advantageous
- Comfortable in dealing with senior management both international and externally
- Experience working with people from different countries and cultures (in particular Japanese business culture)
- Able to travel for work is necessary (not frequent)

**Salary**: Up to £100,000.00 per year
