Job description
**The Team**
The lead advisor role will be based in the North Pennines SPA and Bowland Fells SPA, but expected to travel across northern England’s uplands as the range of hen harriers expand.
The role will be part of a wider hen harrier project team, within Natural England’s National Complex Case Unit. The core mission of the team is to improve complex and high-risk casework handling across Natural England, having a critical role in supporting and developing organisational delivery of environmental outcomes.
The northern Hen Harrier Team monitor wild hen harrier nesting attempts in the northern uplands of England, support licenced ringing and satellite tagging activities and monitor live locations of birds via satellite tag data.
They also liaise with landowners, partners and land managers, providing information about hen harrier nests and roosts, and providing expertise and best practice guidance on licenced activities carried by landowners and land managers.
