Collaborative Patient Participation Lead

3 weeks ago

King's Lynn, United Kingdom The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn NHS Foundation Trust Full time

This post is integral to championing the role of the patient voice in collaborative work between the three acute hospital trusts in Norfolk and Waveney. The post-holder will play an essential role in ensuring that people feel listened to, action is taken, and we work in partnership with patients and carers (especially those who are seldom heard) to continually improve as we move to new models of working.

Develop and encourage the patient and carer voice across JPUH, NNUH, and QEH

1. To lead and participate in a range of events and groups to listen to the views of patients, carers, families, children and young people, and staff as appropriate.

2. To ensure that the views of ‘seldom heard’ groups are actively sought out and responded to across the organisation and reaching out into the community.

Ensuring a positive patient/carer experience of care and services

1. Provide guidance to specialty teams on patient/carer involvement and measuring experience, helping staff to translate their results into meaningful practical actions to generate improvements in experience.

2. Ensure that the views of patient families and members continue to be sought and addressed

Increase mechanisms for patient feedback across the patient journey

1. Ensure that a variety of feedback opportunities for service users are embedded in collaborative service redesign processes.

Ensuring compliance with internal and external assurance systems for patient experience

1. To contribute to the development, monitoring and implementation of NWAHC engagement and experience action plans to ensure that patient/carer involvement and improving experience is core to delivery of the Joint Acute Clinical Strategy.

There’s never been a more exciting time to join TeamQEH. We’re working on a once in a generation opportunity to build a new state-of-the-art hospital to open in 2030 and we are also carrying out on one of the biggest pieces of digital transformation work we’ve ever undertaken.

Our new electronic patient record (EPR) will replace paper-based patient records from 2026 and will lead to better, safer, joined-up care at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and beyond.

At The QEH we provide a comprehensive range of specialist, acute, obstetrics and community-based services to around 331,000 people across west and north Norfolk, North Cambs and South Lincs.

We are an ambitious organisation that upholds our values of kindness, wellness and fairness. We strive for continuous quality improvement, recently demonstrated in our 2024 CQC maternity inspection rating our services as ‘Good’, and we are proud to be a place to learn and grow through recognised learning and apprenticeships.

We recognise and reward our 4,000 staff and volunteers, priding ourselves on a community atmosphere and positive team spirit. We have approx. 530 beds across 33 wards and have newly built education and training facilities, a range of modern award-winning centres alongside a talented team of people ready to give you a warm welcome. We love working here and think you will too.

Please see attached Job Description;
