We are looking to appoint a research assistant with expertise in _in vivo _and _in vitro _electrophysiology to work alongside Professor Gavin Woodhall (PI) and Dr Sukhvir Wright (PI) in MRC and ERUK grant funded projects investigating synaptic and network mechanisms underlying temporal lobe and paediatric immune-mediated epilepsy. This cutting edge, translational research will aim to develop world-first epilepsy models and explore novel treatments. This approach directly addresses the unmet clinical need for rapid intervention in these epilepsies to improve long
- term patient outcomes.

You will be expected to perform neurosurgery and record ECoG _in vivo_, as well as _in vitro _electrophysiological studies (whole cell patch clamp, local field potential recordings). You will need to perform in _vivo_ telemetric recording in rodents and in ex vivo tissue. Knowledge of EEG analysis methods and programming (e.g. MATLAB) is essential. A current UK Home Office Personal License (PIL) will be essential.
