Job Title: Research Assistant

Join Auburn University as a Research Assistant in the Crop, Soils, and Environmental Sciences department. This is a four-year limited term position, funded by external sources, with a focus on assisting with the AU agriculture drone project.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with project team spray trials and manage drone fleet.
  • Conduct field studies and manage project progress and data.
  • Supervise undergraduate and graduate student workers in the field.
  • Attend professional conferences, expos, and tradeshows to promote AU studies and project team.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Plant Breeding, or closely related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience for Level II, 4 years for Level III, and 6 years for Level IV.
  • Master's degree required for Research Associate positions.
  • Advanced degrees accepted in lieu of years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and data management skills.
  • Ability to operate and repair farm equipment.
  • Alabama commercial pesticide license-D&R category and FAA part 107 remote pilot license within 3 months of employment.
Working Conditions:

Work outdoors in summer under high heat and humidity conditions. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs during field work.
