Are you an experienced Buyer looking for a new challenge?
If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a Buyer to join a new team. As a Buyer you will have a keen eye for detail, excellent negotiation skills, and a proven track record of cost-effective purchasing of products, materials, consumables, and services. Working closely with the Product & Procurement Manager you will play a crucial role in sourcing for products and suppliers, optimising supply chain efficiency, and ensuring timely delivery of goods.
There’s plenty to do in this role, you will be responsible for the smooth running of daily operations and reporting. You will generate purchase orders, confirm delivery dates, costs, and update purchase orders. You will run planning reports and review data to determine replenishment order quantities and delivery dates as well as create purchase orders for direct shipment sales orders. You will also be responsible for importing goods from overseas suppliers and therefore will need to ensure the appropriate documentation for customers clearance. You will negotiate saving opportunities and liaise with suppliers on invoice queries.
What about you? You will have proven experience as a Buyer and have a good understanding of suppliers and supply chain procedures as well as auditing suppliers. You will have experience of working in the engineering sector. You’ll have strong negotiation skills and the ability to build effective relationships with suppliers. You will have knowledge of Net Zero and how it impacts the supply chain and an understanding of import customs entry procedures. You will have experience of using MRP systems and be proficient in Microsoft packages and SAP with good administration skills and attention to detail. You will be a good communicator both verbally and written, be curious with a continuous improvement mindset by seeking opportunities to improve process efficiencies and have the willingness to learn and make the role your own.
