Job Title: Full-Time Buyer

**Salary**: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum (based on experience), plus benefits

Company Overview: We are a reputable company operating in the Steel sector. We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Full-Time Buyer to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to our organization's growth and success.

Role Summary: As a Full-Time Buyer, you will be responsible for managing inventory, purchasing raw materials, and ensuring timely delivery of products and services. You will collaborate closely with the Sales and Planning departments to prioritize customer requirements and maintain service excellence. Your role will involve working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, utilizing your expertise in logistics, supply chain management, and negotiation skills.

Required/Desired Skills: To be considered for this position, you must possess the following qualifications, experience, and skills:
Qualifications & Experience:

- Proven previous inventory management skills are essential.
- Previous purchasing experience is essential.
- Experience working with mainframe systems, particularly re-ordering of raw materials in a metals environment (MPR).
- Experience in a technical environment is preferred.
- Sound understanding of logistics and supply chain management principles.
- Proven track record in negotiating contracts and achieving cost savings without compromising quality.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and address issues promptly.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

**Responsibilities**:

- Expedite live purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery of products and services to meet customer requirements.
- Coordinate and communicate delivery status of live purchase orders and schedule incoming goods based on customer demand.
- Assist the Purchasing Manager with controlling and communicating the incoming receipt budget.
- Source, select, and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, delivery time, and reliability.
- Provide updates on key suppliers to support commercial decision-making.
- Identify and propose opportunities for cost reduction and value creation.
- Manage and review key subcontractors, maintaining effective communication.
- Control and manage subcontractor inquiries and orders.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, resolving any issues promptly.
