About our client

Our client is a female-run food and events company based in North London, dedicated to providing seasonal and sustainable food packed with unforgettable flavour. Founded in 2015 by two friends, they have grown into a fun, hardworking and ambitious team of12 people. They are now looking for an enthusiastic and experienced individual to support their growth.

The role:
As Event Manager, you will be working in the events team on the planning, running and organisation of the events calendar. You should understand the ethos of a well-planned and expertly run event and be proud to make sure this standard is maintained at alltimes. You should take an active interest in the company and its success.

Key Tasks:
Events:

- Complete detailed service plans in relation to food, beverage and the venue.
- Booking in all freelance staff, being their onsite leader and point of contact.
- Ordering from suppliers.
- Arranging travel logistics, couriers and accommodation for events in and outside of London.
- Curating pack lists based on the event requirements, packing and de-rigging.
- Liaising with their executive and head chef on bespoke and current menus.
- Being an on-site team leader and event manager on events.

Office administration:

- Complete detailed, clear and up-to-date event sheets.
- Understand and manage the company's calendar.
- Respond to new sales enquiries, quote and invoice for them and manage budget expectations.
- Assist in running the weekly team meetings, reporting on client feedback and the week’s event calendar.

Client and Suppliers
- Maintain a good knowledge of their client and venue relationships, spending time nurturing these relationships.
- Actively seeking out and securing new partnerships with venues, suppliers and coordinators, attending site visits, and initiating and leading tastings.

Creative
- Being part of creative discussions for internal and external events.
- Work closely with their creative team assisting on design-led events, and collaborating with florists, lighting designers and prop companies.
- Contributing to creative marketing strategy, ideas and content

Essential Skills:

- Have experience working in events, or in a similar role for 3 years.
- A good understanding of hospitality and the food and beverage industry.
- A positive, collaborative management style which seeks to empower others.
- Creativity, innovation and resourcefulness.
- A commitment to continuous improvement.
- A passion for food and events.
- Meticulous organisation skills and a keen eye for detail.

- A team player and good communicator. You’ll enjoy being part of a fun and creative team, and assist at all levels across the business as required.
- A problem solver. Someone who likes to create systems knows how to handle themselves in a range of situations and rises to problems with solutions.
- A highly organised planner. You would enjoy planning a successful event and be meticulous in arranging the logistics.

Working hours: 40 hours a week, typically Monday - Friday (full time). Must be available to work some weekends and evenings.

**Salary**: £30,000 - £35,000 a year depending on experience.

Leave: 31 days per year, inclusive of bank holidays

Location: Camden

Responsible to: Head of events

Start date: As soon as possible.
