The What

The Events Team aims to deliver comprehensive and high-quality services to its clients. The Event Manager provides a complete and comprehensive service, managing TAG’s mid-size Events from enquiry and proposal through to booking and completion with a proactive and consultative approach. Working as part of a team to assist on larger projects is also a key part of this role.nThis role has responsibility for providing an end-to-end service for a client-base consisting of domestic, regional, and international clients.

Here are just some of the things you’ll be getting involved with:

Event Management and ProceduresnWork as part of a team to deliver larger Events, taking responsibility to manage specific elements as required.nManage the onsite delivery of a wide range of Events dealing with late changes and challenges in a calm and professional manner.nMaintain up-to-date action lists using reminders and other tools to ensure deadlines are met.

Client Relationships and Business DevelopmentnResearch, write and design quality, creative proposals to meet client requirements and win business.nPresent Event proposals confidently and enthusiastically to build and gain client trust.nHelp generate repeat business from the existing client-base and actively seek opportunities for gaining new business through networking and client recommendations.

Supplier Management and RelationshipsnNegotiate the best rates from suppliers and actively seek to maximise savings, reduce client expenditure and increase company profitability.nEffectively manage any suppliers and supplier partners involved with an Event, ensuring close supervision, consistency, excellent communication and attention to detail within the project, and to ensure client requirements are being met.

Travel Management and Delegate RegistrationnManage the components of flight management for an Event.nManage the delegate registration platforms for an Event.nUse delegate registration packages to help build websites, design and send emails, and pull and edit reports.

Financial ManagementnManage all associated costs for an Event and where responsible for elements of larger Events, including supplier costs, commissions, margins and foreign exchange.nMaintain client and TAG budgets in GBP and other currencies.nKeep accurate financial records and complete TAG Desktop tasks to create/update files, raise commission invoices and answer queries from the Finance team.nManage full post-Event financial management including all related invoicing, correspondence, andnOther responsibilities of the job:nFollow all Event procedures to manage a variety of mid-size Events autonomously and simultaneously with a personalised and individual approach to each client.nView Events from the client’s perspective, be ‘ahead of the game’ to proactively analyse information to anticipate client requirements.nIdentify potential issues and offer redress or new or improved ideas.nDevelop and sustain strong client relationships by proactively offering and delivering consistently high service levels.nAlert the Director of Events to any potential cross-divisional leads and referrals for other TAG divisions across all territories.nUpdate and maintain Salesforce CRM system with accurate and relevant information and accurately track client interactions for actioning accordingly.nMake good commercial decisions in all aspects of responsibility.nBalance time and work required in relation to profitability of an Event.nReflect and learn from each Event, taking advice or feedback from others and share ideas.nManage email filing and action lists within a client inbox.nEnsure value for money for the client and from suppliers.

As an Event Manager there are several credentials and attributes which would be advantageous, but a determined attitude and willingness to learn, are equally important:

Education to Degree level or highernIn lieu of education – equivalent combination of education and directly related experiencenExtensive Event management and Event agency experiencenComprehensive knowledge of the Event industrynSuccessful Event management with high client satisfactionnProven record of working in a fast-paced environmentnSkilled user of Microsoft Office Suite and fast-learner of other software packages

The Where and When

This is a full-time role (35 hours per week) based in our London office. Since March 2020, we have operated a flexible, hybrid approach to working and will continue to do this moving forward. We will work with you to find the best mix of office and home working that suits your life and the needs of the team.

You will report into the Global Events Director who is also based in London. There are other regional teams based in the US, Australia, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia and Singapore that you may work closely with, too.
