**Job summary**:
The Government People Group exists to work with departments, professions, and functions to build a modern, effective Civil Service.

We support the government workforce with the right skills and capability. We are working with leaders to get the right people in the right jobs, with the right skills and continuous learning to excel in their roles.

We provide leadership, and in turn, create leaders with exceptional line management capability across departments, influencing partners in the wider public sector and beyond. This involves getting our retention and reward strategy right, to nurture specific skills, and create pride and resilience in our workforce.

Our role is also to provide system leadership across central government in pulling together back office services. Collectively, we help support the Cabinet Office’s priority to drive efficiencies, and reforms that will make government work better, to ultimately provide a better service to the public.

**Job description**:
This role is joining the digital Product Support Team that supports cross-government digital services for recruitment.

The Civil Service Jobs Product Support Team is responsible for the day to day support of the Civil Service Jobs recruitment website and related services. The Officer role provides support to a number of government departments that either advertise vacancies on the Civil Service Jobs website or use the full system for both advertising and applicant management purposes.

You will work closely with a wide range of stakeholders across government and suppliers.

The recruitment landscape is wider than Civil Service Jobs so you may also be involved in supporting a range of digital services that exist to “get the right people, into the right roles, at the right time”. This includes:

- Online Tests and Assessments
- Fast Stream Recruitment Platforms
- Government Recruitment Service CRM

You’ll be joining us at a pivotal time as we deliver the next generation of Civil Service Jobs. It’s an ambitious and challenging project with enormous potential to improve how we attract, assess and select new civil servants.**Person specification**:
**Key responsibilities**:
2. Creating and maintaining user accounts.
3. Work closely with the system suppliers in resolving technical and performance issues.
4. Liaise with stakeholders to develop system changes.
5. Assist with system changes and configurations, including emergency fixes.
6. Assist with acceptance testing both end-user and professional customer system changes.
7. Assist with on-boarding new departments

There will also be a chance to:
1. Contribute to working groups across GPG and the wider Civil Service.
2. Gain business insight from across the Civil Service by taking part in account management meetings across your portfolio.
3. Develop your knowledge of resourcing processes, procedures and policy.
4. Gain practical experience of working within an Agile delivery environment

We’re looking for someone who has product support skills. You will be an individual with strong interpersonal skills, who likes working in a delivery focused, service environment with multi-disciplinary teams. You will be someone who is able to contribute in a small team environment, where all members support each other closely and make use of our diverse skills and experiences in resolving emerging activities.

**Essential criteria**
- It’s essential that you have:
- Familiarity with delivering service to tight deadlines and agreed standards.
- Experience dealing with customers.
- Effective organisational and administrative skills.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A working knowledge of Office IT/Information Systems.

**Desirable experience**
- The following skills/experience are desirable for this Product and Support Officer role:
- An understanding of recruitment in the Civil Service.
- Experience in a role with a focus on technical operational support.
- Experience of recruitment systems (applicant tracking systems).
- Experience using Salesforce CRM.
- Experience of working with external suppliers
- Familiarity with Google tools (G Drive, Sheets, Slides, Docs).
- Basic understanding of web technologies e.g. HTML.
- Knowledge of Agile working practice
