Who are we looking for?

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced Radiation Protection Adviser (RPA) to join our business. Nuvia operates a diverse and successful radiation protection business across the UK. Our customers range from large government departments using a range of scanning and detection equipment through to small industrial users with a few closed sources. The RPA team provide consultancy across the nuclear sector including generation, decommission and defence projects.

To be considered, you will have an RPA Certificate of Competence or be very close to gaining this qualification. This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your career, working with a team of experienced radiation protection professionals within the Nuvia Health Physics Business.

What will you be responsible for?
- Provision of radiation protection advice to assist clients with radiological safety and regulatory compliance.
- Evaluation of working environments and development of safe systems of work to ensure an appropriate standard of radiological safety.
- Delivering an excellent customer focussed service to clients.
- Facilitating radiation protection training courses.
- Participating in the development, testing and evaluation of operating instructions and contingency arrangements.
- Reviewing operational health physics data and initiating follow-up action as required.
- Promoting services that Nuvia can provide to our clients.
- Attending working groups on behalf of Nuvia and our clients.
- Mentor less experienced colleagues in the RPA team.

**Qualifications**:
Essential skills, experience and competence required
- Valid Radiation Protection Adviser Certificate
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desirable skills, experience and competence
- Ability to manage own workload and be able to prioritise effectively
- Working towards RWA certificate
- Member of the Society for Radiological Protection
