CASS+ is an independent charity providing advice and support to all who are attending Court or Tribunal hearings and their families. We operate independently of other agencies. We work with individuals to identify the most effective intervention to resolve the difficulties they are experiencing. CASS+ will signpost, encourage and enable clients to access a range of specialist agencies based in local communities. Our motto is '_access to answers_'.

**Purpose of the Role**

To be responsible for the advice, information and support provided by CASSPLUS to the people attending Court or Tribunal Hearings within the allocated location. This incorporates:

- Working with clients and overseeing signposting and referrals
- Multi-agency working to enable the correct level of support to be provided to clients
- Supervising and coaching volunteers to ensure the volunteer service is optimised
- Provide oversight and line management of the Assistant Co-ordinator

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**

**Service Delivery - **_**Ensure the smooth day to day delivery of the service maintaining a consistently high standard**_
- Oversee signposting and referrals within the service, including family case work and ongoing client liaison
- Work with the Operations Manager to maintain a focus on the aims and objectives of the service and comply with all policies and procedures
- Ensure data protection and safeguarding measures are in place and being followed at all times
- Monitor and evaluate service delivery through maintenance of the database, local reporting and interpretation of such data to identify trends and/or opportunities
- Ensure adequate cover for the service through volunteer rotas
- Manage risk within the office and settings where team members are working, following Health & Safety policies including the monitoring, recording and reporting of incidents
- Write and distribute regular reports for stakeholders
- Manage the office petty cash

**Volunteer Management - **_**Lead, manage and motivate the team of volunteers. Create the environment in which volunteers can do their best work and can contribute to a high performing team.**_
- Building on success, lead and inspire volunteers to work together within and beyond the team to deliver the organisation’s objectives
- Recruit, train and retain volunteers and ensure all volunteers are managed to CASSPLUS policies and procedures and fully understand and are committed to the mission, values and strategy
- Liaise with the Communications Officer and Business Manager to promote volunteering opportunities based on the needs of the organisation through recruitment and publicity strategies
- Liaise with the Business Manager and Operations Manager to develop and deliver induction training and on-going training for all volunteers including working towards accreditation
- Encourage and support volunteer development and proactively manage performance
- Co-develop work plans with team members and coach through one to one and group supervision and individual performance development programmes
- Proactively ensure all volunteers are kept fully briefed on key issues and ensure two way communication
- Maintaining awareness and understanding of current legislation relating to volunteering and ensuring the service complies with any changes.

**External Representation and Networking -**_ **Contribute to ensuring that CASSPLUS is well regarded externally **_
- Represent and promote CASSPLUS at external meetings.
- Work effectively with multiple agencies across different sectors and establish good working relationships to strengthen referral pathways and/or explore opportunities for partnership working.
- Engage with and raise awareness of the role and function of the service with key external agencies.

From time to time, additional responsibilities may be agreed with the Operations Manager or CEO for specific tasks, projects or initiatives.

**General Responsibilities**
- Line management responsibility for the Assistant Co-ordinator, including managing their performance, providing regular feedback, support and on-going development of their skills and knowledge and a performance and professional development review at least annually
- Be seen as a positive role model and play an active part as a member of the CASSPLUS Team
- Support the Operations Manager, Communications Officer, Business Manager and CEO, as required
- Act with integrity and maintain the highest professional standards at all times
- Undertake any reasonable activity required by the Operations Manager, Business Manager, Communications Officer and CEO
