**The role**

Reporting to the Purchase Ledger Manger you’ll help to manage the Purchase Ledger Team providing business support and innovative solutions to ensure the efficient running of the purchase ledger ensuring invoices are processed promptly and the Groups purchasing procedures followed. You’ll share the workload of the team and deputise for the Purchase Ledger Manager.

**The location**

You’ll be based at our office in Sittingbourne, with the option for working in a hybrid way when appropriate and as agreed with your manager. You’ll be expected to attend your main office 2 days or more per week and travel occasionally to other offices for stakeholder meetings in person

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Committed to putting external and internal customers first, understanding their needs and expectations and achieving results by delivering a customer focused service
- Manage relationships with key business partners. Working collaboratively to find solutions which embed a culture of continuous improvement and enhance service delivery
- Manage relationships with external organisations who provide goods and services to our residents and the organisation, respond to enquiries, customer complaints and correspondence
- Manage and monitor the performance of the team against operational objectives to ensure excellent services are delivered
- Create an energetic and enthusiastic team via meetings and team building activities
- Oversee processing of supplier invoices and credit notes, paying to agreed terms and troubleshooting transactions in the purchase ledger systems to minimise potential payment delays
- Manage Purchase Ledger staff through the one to one process and personal development reviews. Setting objectives, coaching and supporting development, measuring progress, motivating and addressing performance issues to ensure potential is maximised
- Manage the integrity of the purchase ledger data through regular housekeeping and sample checks - Assist with maintaining the Purchase Ledger Policies & Procedures

**What You'll need**:

- Experience supervising a purchase ledger team working in a high volume processing environment requiring high accuracy levels
- Experience dealing with VAT transactions, reconciliation of supplier statements and managing control accounts - Sun systems or similar and BACS software
- Previous experience using a purchase order system (proactis or similar)
- Orchard Housing or similar housing management software
- Advanced excel skills
