Finance Assistant/Assistant Finance Manager

Finance Assistant purpose

The primary purpose of this provide administrative support and guidance to all employees of all financial tasks ensuing that both client and company processes are followed.

You will report directly to Head of Finance.

Finance Assistant Attributes required:

- Relevant experience within a similar role within the construction industry is essential
- Excellent organisational skills
- Ability to prioritise workload and take initiative
- A desire to develop the role further to ensure continual improvement and compliance with company procedures
- Proficient in SAGE, word and excel
- Previous experience of working with a finance role

Finance Assistant Main Responsibilities:
Purchase Ledger
- Reconcile Purchase Ledger accounts to Supplier Statements by 5th of the month.
- Prepare and propose payment run monthly to Head of Finance for processing 5th for cleared funds 7th each month.
- Prepare and process end of month bank payments and allocating settlement discounts.
- Resolving payment queries from suppliers

Subcontractor Ledger
- Prepare and propose a weekly payment run on a Wednesday for cleared funds Friday
- Back cost subcontractor costs on the retrospective CVR.
- Run and verify the CIS monthly return in Sage 50 Accounts on 8th each month
- Maintaining new Subcontractors requesting bank details and verifying changes submitted from the H&S & Compliance Manager, and verify CIS status in Sage 50 Accounts

Payroll
- Prepare weekly payroll reports for Head of Finance. - This is to be completed by Thursday PM for Friday review.

Bank
- Update daily bank feed transactions and posting
- Reconcile HSBC weekly.
- Company Credit card postings
- Chase VAT Invoices for card purchases
- Process PAYE payment on or before 22nd each month
