A vacancy has arisen for a Speciality PA to join the Theatres and Acute Care Pathway admin team based at the Nottingham City Hospital Campus.

Working as part of a team the post-holder will provide a high quality administrative service to theatre matron and their teams. You will be a conscientious and enthusiastic team player with excellent organisational and communication skills, and be well motivated and reliable.

You will be an enthusiastic and conscientious team player. You will be able to work under pressure, have excellent word-processing, written and verbal skills with excellent time-management and organisational skills.

You will be competent in the use of Microsoft office packages and have excellent audio typing skills.

Main duties of the job

In addition to the summary you need to familiarise yourself with full Job Description and Person Specification documents attached.

You will be able to understand and accurately convey verbal and written information and be able to remain calm under pressure. You will be able to work as part of a team to ensure the smooth running of a busy department.

Accurately produce high quality work within defined deadlines. The ability to manage your time, organise and prioritise your workload whilst remaining patient focused is essential.

The successful applicant will have excellent audio typing skills and be competent in the use Microsoft packages. Work based experience within hospital or health care setting is desirable but not essential.

You will need to be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of confidentiality issues and to respond to queries within and outside of the organisation in a professional and empathetic manner using your own judgement and decision making skills. You must be able to clearly and accurately convey information verbally gathered via the telephone and from both verbal and documented reports.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Dealing with incoming mail, results/reports management

Establish and maintain admin systems/ databases

Use judgement and initiative to prioritise the importance/urgency of tasks within defined guidelines

**Qualifications**:
Essential criteria
- GSCE in Maths and English or equivalent qualification
- NVQ level 3 in Administration or equivalent experience.

Experience

- Previous clerical experience/ experience of office procedures
- Experience of using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook

**Salary**: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
