**Hours per week: Early shift 8:00 -16:00 & Late shift 13:00 - 21:00 (Monday to Sunday) - (Sunday 8:00 - 16:00 or 9:00 - 17:00)**

Specialising in enhanced hygiene services, janitorial/housekeeping, daily cleans, window cleaning and consumables, our experienced teams ensure our client’s premises are kept at the highest presentation standards, while also ensuring the safety of building users.

**Role Overview**

We are currently recruiting for a Environmental Operative to join our passionate and driven Cleaning team based at our client’s site in the Bristol region.

An exciting opportunity to join our vibrant team has arisen. We are currently seeking out individuals to join our Recycling Team at our very busy shopping destination, where our customer-facing vision is to ‘Create Smiles and Breathe Kindness’ for every visitor we encounter. We would love to hear from you if you have excellent customer service skills and are experienced in general Recycling work, i.e., you will use mechanical aids in this process, whether it be bailers/compactors or folk lift trucks, you will also be helping to re-recycle internal & external bins, by using our onsite sorting table. However, we will invest in training the right person if your experience is yet to be gained.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Ensure that you are working within all relevant Health, Safety and Environmental legislative requirements, and procedural requirements as required by the Company and its Client
- Drive all vehicles in conjunction with the UK Road Traffic Act 1988 and Road Safety Act 2006
- Ensure all issued PPE is worn correctly at all times, any issues with PPE report immediately to your line manager
- Use of a mobile device supplied for recording work/patrols undertaken
- Report defects/reactive jobs that could lead to an accident occurring
- Use two-way radio equipment for communicating within the Control Room or site team
- Carry out functions required within the site emergency management plan e.g. Fire Evacuation
- Recognise areas where improvements can be made and inform the site supervisor/management Team aware

**Grounds/ External areas**
- Ensure all public pathways, entrances, steps, car parks, and hedgerows are clear of litter, debris, and leaves
- Ensure litter & cigarette ends are removed from planters around the exterior of the Mall building at the entrances
- Ensure bins and smoking posts are emptied at regular intervals throughout the day and cleaned
- Ensure service roads are free of litter and build-up of bulky refuse
- Drive vans/Roadsweepers with or without trailers to travel around the site, remove waste to skips and support site teams where bulky items require moving
- Use of Hot Jet Wash machine, for general cleaning, i.e. gum removal entrances
- Carry out manual handling tasks required to support teams moving bulky items to skips/loading bay areas

**Recycling/ Back of House areas/ Loading Bays**
- Collect all waste from the rear of Units at the designated times
- Collect all bulk recycling waste from lift lobbies throughout the day or upon request
- Ensure full glass/food bins are placed in the under-croft South/North Service Road daily, collect from the back of Units on collection day
- General waste is to be disposed of in the compactor either North/South Service Road
- All recyclable waste is to be stored neatly in the holding area on North/South Service Road until bailed, then stack on pallets and store
- All bulk refuse is to be removed and placed in the correct skip North Service Road
- Drive Forklifts around the loading bays, remove recyclables materials/bins and support site teams where quality items require moving
- Use and operate waste compacting equipment (Bailer & Compactor)
- All recyclable/hazardous waste i.e., WEEE, Light Bulbs, paint pots, aerosols, oils, and printer cartridges are to be stored in the correct receptacles, on the South Service Road
- The North/South Service Road
