About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Environmental Operative to join our team at OCS UK & Ireland. As an Environmental Operative, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective management of waste and recycling services across our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental legislative requirements and procedural requirements.
  • Operate vehicles in accordance with the UK Road Traffic Act 1988 and Road Safety Act 2006.
  • Wear and maintain all issued personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Use mobile devices for recording work and patrols undertaken.
  • Report defects and reactive jobs that could lead to accidents.
  • Communicate effectively with the control room and site team using two-way radio equipment.
  • Participate in site emergency management plans, including fire evacuation procedures.
  • Identify areas for improvement and inform site supervisors and management.
  • Collect waste from designated areas and ensure proper segregation and disposal.
  • Operate machinery, including jet washers, bailers, compactors, and hand pallet pump trucks.
  • Gain a forklift license through provided training.
