Summary

Our Technical Housing Improvements team are seeking a Technical Housing Improvement Officer to provide design, technical and process support in the delivery of the service.

**Full or part-time (30 - 37 hours per week)**

**About the role**

As a Housing Improvement Technical Officer, you will design and manage the installation of adaptation for disabled residents of Wiltshire, working closely with clients, their families, and Occupational Therapists.

You'll have responsibility for managing cases during construction works and projects of varying sizes and complexity, whilst meeting client expectations and referring to Disabled Facilities Grant legislation and procedures.

You will be part of a team which includes Occupational Therapists, Case Workers, other technical staff, and administrative staff.

**About You**

We will look for you to have in-depth knowledge and experience in:

- A construction related field.
- Building terminology.
- Basic construction methods and common defects, gained through training and/or experience.
- Current planning and building regulation practices.
- Health and safety legislation (CDM 2015 requirements)
- Monitoring contractor’s performance and quality.
- Practical delivery of building projects.
- Housing adaptation and the ability to produce a schedule of works.

A developed understanding of the needs of vulnerable clients, including older people and those with disabilities.
