Summary

We're seeking a full time Housing Case Advisor to join our busy Housing Solutions Service on a temporary contract for 12 months.

**About the role**

In this vital role, you will proactively seek to prevent homelessness by empowering customers to work to improve their own housing conditions and develop the skills to live independently in the community.

As part of a team operating a walk-in and telephone housing advice service, you will manage your own busy caseload of customers seeking to join the council's Housing Register, customers whose homelessness we are seeking to prevent and customers in temporary accommodation.

It is an exciting and busy role, with multi-agency and partnership collaboration to help customers resolve their housing difficulties and ensure the protection of children and vulnerable adults.

**About you**

You’ll be highly empathetic, outcome-focussed and creative with a commitment to working in partnership with internal and external contacts to ensure high quality and efficient service.

You will have knowledge of landlord & tenant law, allocations and homelessness law, policies and procedures, along with experience of managing a demanding caseload, home visits and investigations.

We expect you to be agile, customer-orientated and highly literate, with excellent communication, organisational, and IT skills.

Rising open market housing prices and cost of living challenges make this a very challenging time for the service and you will be using your professional skills and experience to develop innovative solutions to prevent homelessness.
