We are recruiting for volunteer workers to join our innovative Enhanced Therapeutic Community Residential Service in Oakwood, Derby. The service provides Residential Rehabilitation for substance misuse.

Phoenix Futures Recovery Through Nature programme engages teams of people who use our services in a range of practical conservation and horticultural projects to aid their recovery.

As a Recovery Through Nature Volunteer Worker, at New Oakwood Lodge you will support individuals accessing the residential rehabilitation programme to achieve outcomes that help create long-term recovery through engagement in the Recovery Through Nature Programme. Using the Therapeutic Community “community as method” model you will empower individuals to be confident about recovery.

You will support the day to day maintenance and development of the mature 3 acre grounds at Oakwood and will support with the delivery of the Recovery Through Nature programme in accordance with the TC manual and the needs of the service.

Previous experience of a Therapeutic Community is desirable, however not essential. Workers come from many different backgrounds and experiences, and you may have the skills required. We are seeking dedicated individuals, based on your values, willingness to learn new skills and the compassion to deliver the best service possible to our residents.

Flexible volunteer hours are available, these can be agreed following a successful interview.

You will need:

- Compassion and empathy for individuals working towards recovery
- Good communication skills
- The ability to be innovative and be flexible in order to meet the needs of the service.
- Experience of Therapeutic Communities is desirable but not essential
