- Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals Mencap is seeking passionate Support Workers to join our incredible team in Amersham.
As a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs.
From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life.
The people we support have many varied interests including walking locally and further afield, swimming, gardening, listening to music and attending concerts, cinema, visiting families, going on holiday. Some attend further education i.e cooking, art, computing and drama.
- The people we support like the people supporting them to be happy, friendly with a good sense of humour. They also like people to be consistent in their approach but also adaptable to changing circumstances when out and about supporting them.
- They are able to go out and about walking locally and can make full use of public transport, buses, trains and taxis.
**What we're looking for**:
- A genuine passion for supporting others.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
**Contract options**:
Full-time: 37.5 hrs
**Shift times**:
**All our services are 24hr care. We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life**
- Days: Between 07:00-22:00 **AND**:
- Sleep-ins: 22:00-07:00
**_There is also a sleep-in available where you will_**_ receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £61.20._
