THE HEAD OF TECHNICAL

The key responsibilities for the role will be:

- Head up the technical department ensuring we meet and exceed exacting customer demands for technical excellence.
- Full responsibility for building relationships with technical teams in our international supply base, including customer audit preparation and supervising audits to a high standard.
- Management of BRC audits and ensure suppliers meet customer requirements at all times including BRCGS, Sedex and BSCI.
- Lead and advise on statutory regulations and company standards relating to best practice in food safety and quality.
- Lead and manage the technical department of 9 which incorporates quality assurance and CSR.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

We are looking for an experienced Senior Technical Manager/Head of Technical with the following skills and attributes:

- Previous exposure and understanding of UK retailer requirements, practices and procedures
- Experience and a strong interest in managing internal, 2nd and 3rd party audits.
- Experience of working in the food industry and supplying major UK retailers (prior experience of Tesco TFMS preferable).
- BRCGS Lead Assessor
- Up to date knowledge of food legislation
- 2.1 or equivalent in a Food Science/Technology degree
