Hunter Savage is thrilled to announce our collaboration with a prestigious client who is in search of a **Payroll Specialist **for a 12-month fixed-term contract. In this role, you will play a crucial part in their expansive payroll operations. This presents an excellent opportunity for individuals with a proven history of success in complex payroll environments to make a substantial impact within our dynamic team.

- Belfast location with Hybrid working model
- Potential for role to be extended following fixed term

**The Role**:

- Entering and processing all elements of the monthly salary payments
- Managing IR35 payrolls
- Handling HMRC notifications, including changes in tax codes and Student Loan notifications
- Addressing inquiries from direct employees/contractors regarding payroll
- Collaborating with the HR Administration team and HR managers to resolve payroll and contractor queries and facilitate payments (including calculations for assignments or secondments)
- Computing various components of the monthly payroll, encompassing SSP and SMP, GAYE, one-time payments, employee loans, etc.
- Generating P45 certificates for departing employees
- Supporting in the administration of benefits such as Pensions, PMI, Dental, and salary sacrifice programs
- Monthly reconciliation of payroll accounts, remittance control, journal creation, and year-end processes
- Assisting the Payroll Manager with various tasks, stepping in when required during any absence.

**The Person**:

- Demonstrated track record in effectively managing a payroll of similar size, including the ability to perform manual calculations for Statutory Sick Pay (SSP), Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP), and converting gross-to-net figures.
- Previous involvement in creating reconciliations for general ledger accounts.
- Familiarity with Accounting and Financial systems.
- Possesses strong numerical skills and excels in meticulous attention to detail.
- Exhibits excellent organisational capabilities, excelling even under pressure and consistently meeting deadlines.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and Word.
- Willingness to maintain flexibility and work additional hours during busy periods such as payroll and remittance deadlines, as well as approval stages
