**JOB PURPOSE**:
Caterpillar Peterlee is the worldwide source of Cat® Articulated Trucks, currently producing an 8-model range used in many industries including mining, construction, and aggregates. The facility's manufacturing activities use the latest computer analysis techniques, robotic technology, and a state-of-the-art paint plant. Machines from the site are shipped to customers around the world.
To support early talent team at Caterpillar Peterlee, specifically recruitment and development of early talent, including the apprenticeship program, placement students and work experience. The role also supports training needs, analysing, and interpreting training requests.
**JOB DUTIES**:
The position will support the apprentice program, including the attraction, recruitment and development of apprentices. This will include creating contracts of employment and supporting the onboarding process of apprentices.
Ensuring the apprentices are on track by monitoring their work and academic performance to ensure they are meeting the requirements of their apprenticeship.
Liaise and have regular communication with training providers, the Caterpillar UK Levy contract and line managers within the business (particularly those supporting the apprentice program).
Arranging, coordinating, and occasionally facilitating STEM events. Arranging events, such the apprentice annual awards evening.
This position typically analyses and interprets training requests from the organization and performs training needs analysis to determine required training.
Coordinates various training related tasks to assure trainees are achieving adequate levels of learning, such as data collection, Skills Management System inputs, and training needs analysis.
Coordinates the activities of salaried training staff as required.
Improves training processes with modifications to materials, methods and various evaluation techniques.
Other duties include raising purchase orders, note taking, booking in training courses, monitoring and resolving required learning queries.
**BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE**:
This is an entry-level staff management position in early talent and training. The position requires technical expertise in data collection, performance and skills analysis, training development, communications (oral & written), and the basic techniques of training delivery. The position requires the incumbent to be proficient in Microsoft office (particularly excel), proactive in their approach, be well organised and be able to manage upwards and have the ability to work autonomously. Knowledge of various areas of plant operations is desirable.
