1. MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
- To work effectively and efficiently as part of a team providing full administration support for the Adult Hearing Service
- To demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills which will contribute to and enhance the patient’s experience
- To contribute towards service improvements in a positive and proactive manner
- Display excellent communication skills in writing, on the telephone and in face-to-face communication with clients, colleagues and other professionals.
- Liaise with clinical staff regarding their rotas and ensure clinic room availability
- Gather information from clients in a range of relevant contexts in order to identify the client’s hearing need
- Answer and make telephone calls throughout the day and inputting into database actions taken.
- Scanning - undertake scanning of ear moulds on a daily basis. Scanning documents and checking for accuracy prior to uploading into database.
- Data quality checking
- Liaise with clients compassionately and respectfully, supporting them with their loss of hearing
- Process incoming and outgoing mail daily.
- Collating information to ensure clinical information packs always available. This will include copying, collating, adding labels to battery books
- Check choose and book (C&B) referrals are appropriate (with full guidance), action within the C&B system and book appointments.
- Retrieve incoming self-referrals and book as appropriate
- To be fully conversant with a wide variety of administrative procedures in use within the Adult Hearing Service and to be able to switch between them whilst maintaining accuracy at all times.
- Photocopying, scanning, printing and laminating as required.
- Update the Adult Hearing face book page on a regular basis

Take responsibility for attending and participating in allmandatory and essential trainingto ensure the safe and efficient functioning of the Trust and/or safety and wellbeing of other staff and the patients for whom you provide services.

- Undertake the screening of clients hearing using a Siemens Hearcheck device
- Contribute towards informal assessment when clients attend without an appointment, this may include re-tubing or cleaning hearing aids and know when to book an appointment with an Audiologist
- Check functionality of hearing aids to support clients with their concerns both on the telephone and in person.
- Check ears for wax
- Demonstrate the fitting of hearing aids and their on-going maintenance to clients on behalf of Audiologists
