The advanced clinical practitioner will be an autonomous, accountable practitioner working on their own initiative and in collaboration with medical, nursing, and allied health professional colleagues as required.

The post holder will also play a key role within the service / department by supporting specific elements of service improvement, audit and research as well as having an active on-going role in the development, supervision, training and assessment of junior medical colleagues and NMAHPs.

The ACP main duties are to
- Work autonomously using their expertise and high level and complex decision-making skills to inform provide high quality clinical assessment, and evidence-based judgements and/or diagnoses, intervention, and treatment plans where required.

Use expertise and decision-making skills to inform clinical reasoning approaches when dealing with differentiated and undifferentiated individual presentations and complex situations, synthesising information from multiple sources to make appropriate, evidence-based judgements, diagnoses, and treatment plans.

The ACP post will support a busy Neurology Unit, this will include working in the Neuro Assessment Unit, Hyper Acute stroke, acute Neurology and Neuro Day Case Unit.
